Get sun-struck in Iceland: Summer Solstice, Reykjavik, Iceland

Date: June 16-19

Imagine 72 hours of daylight and a party that never stops! This is one party you won’t want to miss set in Iceland’s dramatic landscape. This year Icelandic artists will be showcasing a multi-coloured lava tunnel and many parties take place inside glaciers! International artists expected at this year’s event include The Prodigy and the Foo Fighters

A valley of possibilities: Estonia, Sweden

Date: June 29 – July 1 (Estonia), August 10 – 12 (Sweden)

Into The Valley parties are taking place all over the world, including Cape Town. The first festival began in a quarry in Sweden in 2015 and every year more exotic locations are searched for to party in. This year is bound to be exceptional, judging from the parties in the past – so don’t miss The Black Madonna in Estonia and Andrew Weatherall in Sweden

Go green in France: Paris

Date: June 10 – 11

This is an eco-festival with a strong focus on sustainability where activists and leaders in eco-change gather to exchange green ideas. Powered by solar panels and recycled oil generators, it will feature artists and groups like Solange, Perfume Genius and A Tribe Called Quest.

Make your mark at the Bluedot Festival: England, Cheshire

Date: July 7 – 9

This ‘galactic’ festival takes place in the Jodrell Bank Observatory and is a favourite with ravers and new-age music fans. The festival promises to include stellar music performances and interactive installations with the 2017 line-up including DJ Yoda and Nightmares on Wax.

Go folk in Italy: Lake Garda

Date: August 16 – 21

This is a laid-back festival set high on a cliff edge above Lake Garda. Featuring great Italian food, rock climbers and swimmers in Lake Garda can cool off to fabulous folk and reggae tunes.

Jazz it up in the Netherlands:

Date: July 7-9

The North Sea Jazz Festival is the largest indoor festival in the world and takes place in Rotterdam where over 1000 jazz, blues, funk R&B, hip-hop and even pop musicians gather together to raise the roof! Expect to see Gladys Knight, The Roots and Usher!

Stay with the sounds in Spain: Barcelona

Date: June 1-3

The Primavera Sound festival is one of Europe’s largest and most renowned festivals held in an industrial park next to the sea. Last year it featured an amazing line-up and this year the three-day music fest will feature the talents of Frank Ocean, Grace Jones, Solange and Bon Iver.
