With the 5^th annual Cliff Path Night Run and the 1^st under the FinGlobal name, locals and visitors once again took part in this unique event in the beautiful town of Hermanus.

On Wednesday, 4 October, participants had the option to enter the 6 km race from The Marine Hotel or the 10 km race which started at the New Harbour.  With headlamp or torch, the participants, young and old, gathered at the start lines and enjoyed a leisurely stroll or a brisk run with both races finishing at Grotto beach.

With a time of 24 minutes the 1^st runner to cross the finish line for the Mens 6 km race was Adam Lawson Smith.  Etienne Barnard (26 minutes) and James Barnard (27 minutes) followed to take 2^nd and 3^rd place.  The Ladies 6 km winner, Jean-Marie Redelinghuis finished in 25 minutes with Melanie Joubert two minutes later, taking 2^nd place.  Bernice de Wet and Tania Pretorius Nel did a combined effort and shared 3^rd place in 29 minutes.

The Mens 10 km results:

• 1^st place – Pieter Calitz (38 minutes)
• 2^nd place – Sean Privett (39 minutes)
• 3^rd place – Justin Swart (39 minutes)

The Ladies 10km winners also finished with impressive times:

• 1^st place – Corli Leonard (46 minutes)
• 2^nd place – Lena Stanger (48 minutes)
• 3^rd place – Leanne McConnell (49 minutes)

Unique to Hermanus, each participant received a beautiful whale tail medal and some lucky entrants also received a variety of lucky draw prizes.

As part of the FinGlobal charitable sponsorships, we have donated a portion of this year’s entry funds towards the Just Care building project in Mount Pleasant.
