Former South African president Nelson Mandela once said that “There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.”

Whatever the reasons were for emigrating from South Africa (or maybe you are considering emigrating), you will always have South African roots. It’s okay to spread your roots like many forefathers once did, after all, the deeper the roots, the stronger the tree and we are here to remind you that emigration does not affect your South African birth right, citizenship or the right to retain your South African passport – because simply put, “once a South African always a South African”!

Many South Africans at home and abroad have a lot of memories of South Africa, both good and bad – but let us not dwell on the negatives but rather focus on some of the positives that should make us all proud to be South African!
