Guess what day it is today? You’re right, it’s Friday! And today we’re taking a bit of a detour from our German escapades – heading up to Sweden to visit the fantastic South African shop called Taste of Africa.
Shop of the Week – Taste of Africa
Taste of Africa offers a very unique experience to visitors. Not only can you browse and buy all the fabulous safa products, but you can visit the African Baobab Kitchen to cook with other South Africans. You simply choose your favourite ingredients, gooi them in the potjie and enjoy a lovely ambience with acquaintances who soon become friends.
Taste of Africa offers a unique experience. They believe in togetherness, sharing and understand that South Africans long to experience home in more ways than one. Shop owners hail from Stanford in South Africa.

What makes them so amazing is that they believe in giving back – 4% of all Bushman’s chili sauce sales is donated to Survival International which protects the heritage of the indigenous San people. In addition, 4 % of Taste of Africa spice sales are donated to Vi-skogen – a tree-planting project which guards against soil erosion in Africa. Lastly, a percentage of sales from Taste of Africa Coffee is donated to a school in South Africa, Funimfundo.
Feel free to follow them on Facebook.
