July 2013: South Africans’ influence on Western Australia

April 18, 2015

The 2013’s Zest Festival theme: far from home adventures, treks, exiles and migrations. The festival will cast its eye over the ocean to Cape Town, South Africa…

The Australian Research Council, Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions (Europe 1100-1800), in partnership with The Zest Festival, is calling on South African migrants to celebrate their emotional journeys of migration, that have taken them far from home.

Readers of fresh milk can now share their journeys of migration from SA to Oz in the Zest Festival’s Short-Shorts Story writing competition. Entries are invited for a prose story, running to a maximum of 500 words in any South African language, which should explore your journey…for a copy of the entry form please click here.

Since we can’t wait to read the winning entry we decided to be at the Zest Festival in heart, soul and spirit – Kalbarri 21-22 September. You’re more than welcome to pop in, say hallo at the finglobal.com stand for a koppie koffie en bietjie bek verkoop. Sien julle daar!
