Rainbow Friday: the SA expat’s Friday shopping feature #15

July 8, 2016

Are you feeling the winter cold yet? Or mayhaps you are in a part of the globe which is drenched in sun this time of year. You know? A place like the UK. Well, if this is you, then we’d like to send you some South African love in the form of one of our favourite shops called Bob’s Biltong

Shop of the Week – Bob’s Biltong

In 2001 Bob Neave found himself jobless in a country which wasn’t able to offer him much, given the economic climate. Him and wife, Lesley, then decided to pack up and move to distant shores – emigrating to the UK.

Although their new home offered them everything they’d hoped for, they struggled to source South African goods, rendering them perpetually homesick. So, as with many of our South African shops abroad, they decided to make their own boerewors, biltong and drywors. Bob’s delicious treat were soon in high demand from his South African as well as his English friends abroad. And, as they say, the rest is history.
