In addition to the annual conglomeration of whales along the coast of Hermanus this time of year, 250 runners from all over will participate in the annual Cliff Path Night Run on 7 October 2015. As official sponsor, the finglobal.com team will be there, yet again, to cheer on all our participants and catch some “gees”.
Participants can run (or walk) the 6 km or 10 km trails along the cliff paths and over the Mussel River. Of course, though Hermanus can be seen in all its splendour during the day, the night run requires the use of a headlamp or torch, so be sure to wear yours!

6 km cliff path fun run
- Route: Marine Hotel to Dutchies Restaurant at Grotto Beach
- 17:00 – registration opens
- 17:30 – shuttle leaves Grotto Beach
- 18:00 – fun run starts
10 km cliff path night run
- Route: Hermanus New Harbour to Dutchies Restaurant at Grotto Beach
- 17:00 – registration opens
- 18:00 – shuttle leaves Grotto Beach
- 19:00 – night run starts
Each participant will receive a Whale Tail medal at the prizegiving with some lucky draw prizes to a few hopefuls as well. The rugby fans among us will be glad to know finglobal.com is trying to organise a big screen so all the bok supporters can watch South Africa beat USA in this exciting rugby world cup match.
If you want to join in, visit www.enteronline.co.za to enter the race online. Entries are R57 for the 6 km run and R136 for the 10km run – you’d better hurry as online entries close Monday night. Late registrations can also be made in person at the Marine and Old Harbour at R60 and R150 respectively.
A portion of the funds will be donated to the Hermanus Rainbow Trust (www.rainbowtrust.org.za) as part of our charitable sponsorships. The amount we sponsor will depend on the total entries received and will be calculated on Wednesday evening.
