South African soul food in Seoul

We’re back for another trip around the world to find the best South African grub on the globe.  This week we’re making a stop in the Republic of Korea to sample the delicious food of Braai Republic in Seoul.

Restaurant of the week: Braai Republic

Braai Republic, as you can guess, is a South African restaurant serving traditional saffa food in the Republic of Korea. The restaurant opened doors to the public in 2011 and ever since they’ve become a favourite stomping ground for South African expats, locals and other meat-lovers.

The aim of the restaurant is to bring folks together around a ‘barbecue’ – or rather, to create a space which is socially cohesive, warm and welcome. They showcase South African culture including rugby jerseys signed by the coach of the national team, lively music and have a massive zebra pelt on display.
