South African restaurant in the USA: #RainbowFriday no.29

We’re at our 29^th edition of our #RainbowFriday blog. We’re back in the US this week to visit a lekker local hangout called Springbok Bar and Grill.

Okay, so it’s not really a shop, but we thought we’d stretch our shopping sights a bit further than groceries and biltong and take a pitstop at a South African restaurant abroad. We’re sure our friends in the California will jump at the chance to eat a bit of boerie within American borders.

Restaurant of the week: Springbok Bar and Grill

The Springbok Bar and Grill is known as the best rugby joint in the USA.

It was founded by a trio of South Africans from Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg – Peter Walker, Robin McLean and Graham Taylor.

After spending several years in America, they realised there really weren’t that many good rugby bars on US soil and decided to take the bull by the horns and do something about the situation. Their aim is not only to create a homely and inviting atmosphere, but to share their love of rugby, cricket, soccer, American football and baseball with their patrons – all the while supping on delectable fusion cuisine.
